About Sunbird Shirts

Sunbird began as the brainchild of a brilliant and clever friend raising four boys (three kids and a husband) who couldn’t find great shirts suited to tropical living - and so FourBoys was born.  When Nadia decided to close FourBoys, Singapore was bereft of decent shirts with personality!  Especially ones that were made with sound social ethics.

Recognising Nadia's excellent idea, and refusing to let it fade, Verity is taking Nadia's idea forward, evolving FourBoys into what is now Sunbird Shirts.

Small batch, socially responsible production

Everything we make is in small batches, so you’re not likely to show up somewhere twinning with half the room.

Our fabrics are hand-printed in India by a family-run workshop, then turned into shirts in Vietnam by another family business. Real people, real craft.

Importantly, we employ women who want to work flexibly, who might not otherwise be able to have a job.  At Sunbird, we value the enormous contribution of women in our organisation and of their private domestic load.

Block Print Perfection

Sunbird shirts aren’t meant to be perfect. Slight variations in the prints are part of their character - subtle reminders that each piece is made by hand, not mass-produced.

Slow fashion is unique. While fast fashion offers mass-produced, identical pieces, Sunbird is for those who seek something truly special. If you value thoughtful design, handmade quality, and clothing with a soul, you’ll feel right at home here.
